A poll was conducted during the last few days of August in which voters were asked who they were supporting for Deputy Mayor. 435 people were interviewed in which 66% are supporting Ron Ellsworth, 7 % are supporting Jennifer McCreath and 27% are undecided.
McCreath released a video statement on her youtube site earlier this morning, appearing upbeat, and says she is not phased. "This was before I had my election signs out. It's understandable that people aren't going to vote for someone they have never heard of," says McCreath.
She says the poll won't affect her plan to continue with her grass-roots style of campaigning via door-knocking and attending public functions. "In some ways this is about getting me elected but in other ways, it's about me learning more about what the issues are in this City. Whether or not I get elected, I will continue to advocate for citizen rights," said McCreath.

Hi Jennifer,
Congratulations on your run for office up North. I hope you do very well. : )
Having worked on a good number of local campaigns here across the border (and having followed your adventures)... what is your marketing plan beyond knocking on as many doors as possible, etc.? Grassroots stuff like that is great and I hope you have some Volunteers helping you, but are you writing Op-Eds for the local paper(s)? Buying any ad time on local radio or print? Holding any events rather than attending others' events?
I don't want to come across as a wet blanket, but I have seen too many good folks blow their chances by not planning out their marketing/pr. If I might suggest, please consider contacting Donna Milo who ran for office in the Miami, Florida area and there is another Transwoman in Nebraska (she's a Democrat, I believe) who ran for Congress if I am right. Both were totally grassroots. Also, there is another Canadian T-Girl who is a great writer but is unfortuately under-employed right now. She may be able to help you with press releases, etc. If you don't know of her already, please e-mail me. BTW, I have not spoken with any of these women about my suggesting them - but I didn't want to let these ideas go by in case they might help you.
Finally - are you collecting donations on your website, etc?
GOOD LUCK and Best Regards,
Karin
